HELLO, I AM CHIA-JU LIN.
Also known as Emily. I am a UX/UI designer driven by the belief that exceptional digital experiences are built on deep user understanding and thoughtful design. With over 8 years of experience, I'm passionate about crafting intuitive and user-centric products that not only meet needs but also spark genuine engagement and satisfaction.
My design journey has been a continuous exploration of design principles, creativities, and emerging technologies, allowing me to bring a unique synergy of interface design expertise, creative problem-solving, and strategic thinking to every project.
My Journey into Design
Started with Visual Communication Design (2008–2012)
My journey in design began with a B.A. in Visual Communication Design from the National Taiwan University of Arts. This rigorous program instilled in me a strong foundation in creative problem-solving, technical proficiency, and design theory, all while cultivating a deep appreciation for cultural nuances, aesthetics, and innovative thinking.

Evolved into Digital Experiences (2012–2016)
Stepping into the dynamic design industry in Taiwan, I gained valuable hands-on experience across graphic design, branding, marketing campaigns, and the burgeoning field of UX/UI. Working with startups and international collaborations during this period was pivotal in understanding the crucial interplay between business objectives and user-centered design.
As I grew more curious about global design trends and cross-cultural perspectives, I began to seek new challenges beyond my comfort zone — which led me to take the leap and move to Europe.
Expanded My Horizons in Europe (2017 - Present)
Driven by my curiosity and passion for the possibilities in design, I moved to Berlin — the capital of authenticity and creativity — where I explored the fast-paced startup scene and the innovative environment.
Seeking a broader perspective within the design landscape, I transitioned to the agency world in Düsseldorf, Germany's vibrant media and marketing hub. At leading design agency, I had the privilege of collaborating with global brands like Amazon, Porsche, and Imperial Tobacco Group, contributing to strategic UX/UI projects that reached a global audience."
Paused to Recharge, Returned to Redefine (2022–2023)
I took a career pause to recharge and reflect on my design journey.
During this time, I completed an M.A. in Expanded Media at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, where I focused on storytelling, immersive experiences, and interactive design (AR, VR, XR) — expanding my perspective on the future of user experience.
Opening a New Chapter (2023–Present)
I’m now embracing a new chapter in my design career, combining my experience in UX/UI with a curiosity-driven exploration of emerging technologies and strategic design.
While some might perceive changes in my path, I see it as a natural evolution—an ongoing expansion of my skills and knowledge through constant learning and venturing beyond my comfort zone.
